A lot of rains are expected during the month of June in India. Since monsoon has failed, most of the places have been affected by extreme heat this year. In some places, schools remained closed due to the heat, though schools reopen after summer vacation in the month of June. In some areas many died of heat waves. Occurrences of these calamities are pointing towards the soon return of our Lord. Let us get ready for the greatest event that will take place at the closing of the history of this world.


Leadership Training in Hosur, Elder Pardon k Mwansa

On June 23, one of the vice presidents of GC, Elder Pardon Mwansa conducted  a  one-day seminar for the leaders of the Southern Asia Division, in Hosur office. Some of the Union Presidents were also present for this seminar. He dealt with the following topics:    The most effective way to serve as a leader: the power of number; Unity and order: Key to dynamic progress and great relationships; Divine leadership: Treating all classes of people with equal justice; How to prepare yourself for successful leadership. There was lively discussion and good feed back from the audience. Valuable lessons were learned by the leaders of Southern Asia Division during the 4 hours they spent with Elder Mwansa.

PDD conducts great Evangelism Campaign in the Mumbai.

Pastor AJ Tito, Publishing Department Director of the Division, conducted an evangelistic campaign on June 15-30 in Mumbai. Ullas Nagar in Natarajan Auditorium was the venue where Pastor Wilmar Hirl, Associate Publishing Director of GC also participated. Mr. Augustin Joseph directed the meetings assisted by pastors and Literature evangelists around the area. The meeting was inaugurated by a local MLA and the Union President Pr. Ramesh Jadev. 200-300 people regularly attended these meetings in spite of the hot climate. At the end of the meeting 27 people took their stand for Christ. There will be another session of Baptism of 15 people on July 11.

Teacher Orientation Program in Schools

As the schools were getting reopened in the month of June, Dr. Ramani Kurian, Assitant Director of Education, Southern Asia Division conducted Teacher Orientation Program for the teachers of 13 schools in South West India Union and 5 Schools in South Central India Union. The teachers of our schools come from multi-cultural and multi-religious backgrounds. It was felt that they needed to be oriented to a system of Adventist education. The main topics dealt during the sessions are: Educate for Etetrnity: Aim of True education; Educational Objectives & Teaching Objectives: How to attain them through classroom teaching; Strategies and Methods to attain the Objectives; Classroom Management & Discipline focusing upon the aim of true education etc. The response from the adventist as well as non-adventist teachers was very much encouraging.
